ALL ABOUT MOJACAR

Mojacar is a small, unspoilt beach side town on the Costa Almeria, the hottest, driest part of Europe.
(Many of the Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns were filmed just around the corner from here!)

Mojacar enjoys around 325 days of sunshine a year, and daytime temperatures can easily reach a "nice n' toasty" 36 degrees in summer, whilst dropping to a very pleasant minimum,
of around 15 degrees in winter.

Sea Temperatures at Diving Depths around Mojacar

Mojacar has a superb stretch of coastline with arguably the best beach in town just outside the Scubajive shop.
Fortunately, Mojacar is devoid of any high rise buildings to clutter up the clear blue skyline and so has retained, and hopefully always will retain, its unique charm.

There is a thriving tourist industry here, but thankfully it isnt comparable to the usual built up resorts along the Costas in Spain, and so is still relatively "undiscovered".

There are enough "Chiringuitos" (beach bars), restaurants, cafes and clubs to keep anyone happy, but the area is generally thought of as a place to come to avoid the hussle, bussle and tackiness of many other Spanish resorts.

One of the marvels of Mojacar is the stark contrast between Mojacar Playa and Mojacar Village, which is only a five minute drive from the beach. Mojacar Pueblo can be found perched precariously on the hillside overlooking Mojacar Playa. Here you'll find the stereotypical Spanish village with its tiny narrow streets and quaint little Tapas Bars hidden around every corner. The crowning glory of Mojacar village, however, are the truly magnificent, awe-inspiring views it offers of the surrounding area.

Mojacar Playa and Mojacar Pueblo are renowned for their distinctive, individual setting and the warm and welcoming hospitality of the local townsfolk.

Visitors from all over the world return here, year after year, to enjoy the many charms of this "Jewel of the Mediterranean".

Sounds nice, doesn't it?????

OK, OK. so Tourist Guide stuff aside here are a few places in the area that the Scubajive team reckon are well worth checking out. If you want any further info on any of these places, just drop us a line!

MOJACAR PUEBLO

You can't head to Mojacar without visiting the Old Town. Just a few minutes from the beach, Mojacar Village is a real contrast to Mojacar Beach. Perched on the top of a hill, this is Real Spain. Oozes character. Views that will blow your mind!

THE BEACH
Its right in front of you..... you may as well use it!

LA CABANA
Argentinian Steak House. Best food in town!

EL PATIO
Traditional beach bar with regular live bands.

SOPALMO
Little family run Spanish bar and restaurant, in the hills, ten minutes outside Mojacar. 10€ gets you a 3 course meal inc. bottle of wine and water .... beat that!

BLU - CAFE / BAR/ HELADARIA

Directly opposite the dive shop. Great for a beer. Even better for their home made Italian Ice Cream selection.

QUAD BIKES
A favourite of ours! Get very dirty and mucky on a superb off-road quad bike trek. You'll love it!

AQUA PARK
In Vera, 10 minutes outside Mojacar. The usual aqua park related fun. Various water slides, pools, crazy golf, bar and restaurant, or just rent a sunbed and bake yourself in the sun.

HARMONY GYM
Well, you've drunk all that Sangria and eaten all that Tapas. Time to work it off!
Daily, weekly, monthly & yearly membership for locals and visitors.
